Video card psu?

I have a sony vaio pcv-rs610 and i was wondering if there is a decent video card that i can get without upgrading the psu. I only need a card that can run source engine games(probably on medium settings or lower nothing too fancy) at a steady 40-60 fps. So far my comp is stock from the factory except for the ram.

These are my specs:

p4 2.8ghz cpu w/ hyper threading

1gb ram

psu is at least 266w out of factory.

i think it has an agp8x slot?|||u maybe able to use a 8600 gt nvidia

geforce on that psu ...

but going to a higher version than that then

8800 gt is the best value for money but for that u will

need at least 450w psu ... so get a 8600 gt

512 mb ... its a good graphic card ...

however u should find out more info on what

kind of a psu u will need for a 8600 gt anyway

if ur psu aint living with the needed power

u may have to go for a 8500 gt but got less

power to run games thats coming out these days

at least get the 512 mb version of it still most

of the games can be run on medium graphics

on a 8500 gt 512 mb ...

---------

by the way i suggest u have at least 2 gb memory ...

and i hope that it would have been a dual core

processor at least not a p4 ... but its ok ...|||For agp slot, you don't have to change your psu when changing you gfx card.

However, i haven't seen psu with 266w, minimum should be 300w to 350w.

Your pc seems pretty old, consider investing on a new one.

Edit: As I said, your pc is old, you might be lucky if you can find a graphics card for agp today. Consider buying a new computer. If you found an AGP Gfx Card, you can install it freely without burning your hardware as you mentioned.
