ok i have a GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X, this isn't enogh to let me play the PC game Call of Duty Modern Warfare (1). I checked the site Can You Run It? and it says the minimum i need is a NVIDIA GeForce 6600+ (im gonna go with Nvidia cuz i have that now so....)
I actually have 2 questions
1. Do i need to have to update all other hardware to accommodate my soon to be new video card?
(bear in mind i have a 1 gb RAM and a 2.8 gHz performance computer)
2. How would i go about installing it? Do i need some sort of special card so it fits inside my computer without anything happening?|||You have four options, none of which I expect you to like:
1) Forget about playing CoD:MW (it's the cheap solution)
2) Buy an AGP based Radeon HD 4650/4670 video card. There are no AGP based nVidia cards available at 6600+ levels. There are some ATI based ones (a couple of companies took PCIe graphic processors and adapted them to AGP cards.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…
3) Replace the motherboard, cpu, memory, video card (and probably power supply) to bring your system up to current performance levels.
4) Buy a new computer
#3 is probably the most cost effective|||1) depends on what motherboard you have
2) depends on what motherboard you have.|||You need to upgrade A LOT of parts. Especially your Motherboard cause it probably still use AGP and not PCI-e.|||increase ram to 3GB and but (depending your motherboard you will need a at least 1 gb graphics card|||what pc make and model do you have?
i would recommend getting more RAM as well if possible
also, make sure to get an AGP card, unless your PC also has a PCI-E slot

Star Craft 2! bad video card...?
i currently have nvidia geforce mx 440 with agp8x. its a rather old computer and starcraft says i need a video card with vertex shader 2.0.... im looking for something that will let me play SC2 on medium to high settings and doesnt cost too much. $80-$130 is what im willing to spend overall.
Sony VAIO PCV-RZ Series (PC3200) Desktop/PC is my computer. i need a video card that is compatible.
thanks|||Sorry to break it to you but you will most likely have to update your whole computer.
Thing is that your current graphic card is AGP based which means that your motherboard can only accept other AGP graphic cards.
Problem is that AGP is an old technology which isn't used anymore.
It means that you cannot buy any new graphic card and use it in your system, because all the current graphic cards are PCI-E based, not AGP.
So in short, buy a new computer.

Video card psu?
I have a sony vaio pcv-rs610 and i was wondering if there is a decent video card that i can get without upgrading the psu. I only need a card that can run source engine games(probably on medium settings or lower nothing too fancy) at a steady 40-60 fps. So far my comp is stock from the factory except for the ram.
These are my specs:
p4 2.8ghz cpu w/ hyper threading
1gb ram
psu is at least 266w out of factory.
i think it has an agp8x slot?|||u maybe able to use a 8600 gt nvidia
geforce on that psu ...
but going to a higher version than that then
8800 gt is the best value for money but for that u will
need at least 450w psu ... so get a 8600 gt
512 mb ... its a good graphic card ...
however u should find out more info on what
kind of a psu u will need for a 8600 gt anyway
if ur psu aint living with the needed power
u may have to go for a 8500 gt but got less
power to run games thats coming out these days
at least get the 512 mb version of it still most
of the games can be run on medium graphics
on a 8500 gt 512 mb ...
---------
by the way i suggest u have at least 2 gb memory ...
and i hope that it would have been a dual core
processor at least not a p4 ... but its ok ...|||For agp slot, you don't have to change your psu when changing you gfx card.
However, i haven't seen psu with 266w, minimum should be 300w to 350w.
Your pc seems pretty old, consider investing on a new one.
Edit: As I said, your pc is old, you might be lucky if you can find a graphics card for agp today. Consider buying a new computer. If you found an AGP Gfx Card, you can install it freely without burning your hardware as you mentioned.

Is DDR2 AGP8X graphics card compatible with DDR based mother board?
Nvidia Geforce 7600 Gs 512mb Ddr2 AGP 8x/4x Video Card
Nvidia Nforce 2 Chipset basedK7N2-V DDR 400 Mother Board|||Yes it is compatible if you read this before I edited it, sry I didn't see how you typed your mother board info... But yes that card will work
P.S.
the DDR on the mother board simply refers to the type of RAM or Memory that it uses. more then likely if it is new it uses DDR2 or DDR3 if its really new. and i can look it up for you

WOW that's an old board. something I just thought of, you might want to make sure that you have a big enough power supply in this computer. If you try to turn the computer on and get nothing, you may not have enough watts. you always want more wants on you power supply then you need. Which video card should I get?
I run on a 2GHz processor, a gig of RAM, and I have an AGP 8X slot.
Currently I am running with a GeForce 5200 FX, and it blows. I get on average 22 frames per second.
All I'm asking for a boost to at least 40 frames on average and possibly 60 in deserted places.

i got civilization IV. It says you need a Directx 9.0c compatible 64 MB video card with Shader 1.1 support of better. i have a NVIDIA geforce4 mx 440 with agp8x microsoft corporation. is it better than the one needed for civilization iv?

Is half-life 2 capatible with a Gforce4 MX 440 with AGP8X video card?
I'd like to know before I buy it.|||That's an old card you have -even older than my 5200 card.
Unless the game specifies that you NEED 256 megabytes of video RAM to play the game, then you should be able to run it. You'll have to disable a lot of 3-d features in the game though.
To make sure, you should go to half-life 2's web site and make sure that there aren't any special 3-d video card features that are required by the game.|||Well the game may load up, but you will not be able to get any decent graphics at all. Intel pentium 4 2.40ghz can support how big mb video card? **AGP Recommended**?
i want to find a new video card , because now i using nVidia GeForce MX440 AGP8X 128MB want broken already...cant support windows vista aero...so need your all answer...i need a video card can support WDDM 1.0 want...
PC Spec:
Windows Vista Ultimate
Intel Pentium 4 2.40ghz
1.00GB RAM
nVidia GeForce MX 440 with AGP8X (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)
thx!|||Its not so much the RAM on the card as the speed of the ram and the clock speed of the card. You can install a 256 or 512 meg card and the machine will use the vram. More important to get a decent quality card with good speed. A HD 3850 is the fastest AGP card. Theyre pricey though. For aero, probably a HD 3650 or a HD 2400PRO will do fine. (the 2400 is a good price/performance card)
Personally I dont see a lot of value in running Aero becase on most desktops more RAM and NO aero will give Vista a big performance boost (Aero uses a lot of system resources, and as you have a single core cpu even if you upgrade the video card its likely to slow down your computer).
Your machine only has 1GB ram, so investment in another 1-2 GB and switching aero off will give you the best Vista performance.
Even if you buy a good agp card, the machine's CPU and RAM will be under a lot of load just running vista even before you switch aero on.

Does this video card have Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher?
I can't see it anywhere in the specifications and I heard that its only 6600 and upwards that have pixel shader but I just wanted to make sure as the 6600 and others are so much more expensive!

S-Video pc card?
i have an AGP8X Nvidia GeForce FX5200 Graphics card with connections, D-sub, S-video and DVI i have the cable for s-video but when i plug it into tv (24inch if it matters) all the writing on the screen is blurry and i can't change the refresh rate from 60hz and 1024x768 Res, what can i do??? thx|||DVI is a much higher resolution, so if your issue is w/ S-video and it's not working then DVI deff. wont work. Is just writing the only thing that is blurry or is the picture itself blurry too? You might have to try changing some settings on your TV to let it know your using a S Video connection. If no dice then you can always go talk to someone from Nvidia. Good luck man!|||well man try using the DVI cable, and if you cant i think your tv or whatever your connecting to cant support it
Does any ATI or Nvidia video card with 128mb+ vid ram run pixel shader 2.0 (and is it able to run LoL and SC2?
SO i'm planning on buying a new video card, one that can handle LoL (League of Legends) and potentilly Starcraft 2, but that's just an extra feature. What i really want it to do is to be able to Run League of Legends. So i was wondering does pretty much any video card 128MB/256MB/512MB AGP have pixel shader 2.0 ?

Will adding a "DVI out" video card to my computer make the picture on my 50' HD LCD TV sharper?
I have my computer hooked up to my TV so I can watch MPG's and other computer formatted files on the big screen. At present, I have a N-vidia 128 MB AGP8x video card with VGA and S-video out. The computer is hooked to TV using S-video cable. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse so I can sit on the couch and use the computer. When watching Downloaded movies and such on the big screen, everything is fine. But....when I try to check e mail, etc., the picture is a little blurry and Text is difficult to read. Will replacing my computer's video card to one with 128 MB AGP "DVI out" and DVI cord(my TV has "DVI in") make the TV picture as sharp as that on my 17" computer monitor? More specific, will the text and e mails suddenly appear on the 50" big screen just as sharp as they do on my traditional 17" flat screen computer monitor? BTW....my motherboard does not have PCI express slot and does not appear to be able to handle a 256 MB AGP video card. My TV is capable of 1080 dpi HD.|||Component video will give you the best picture, but DVI is better than S-Video in terms of quality.|||If your TV supports 1920x1080 through the DVI, you'll have a very nice picture. Although, it might seem a little dark or blurry at such a large size. Also, interlaced displays don't handle text quite as well, so don't get your hopes too high. Before running out and buying a new video card, make sure your TV will support that resolution through the DVI interface.

What is the best video card, Inno3d FX5500 AGP8X 256MB, 128bit or ASUS ATI Radeon 9550Ge AGP8x 256MB 128bit?
I have used the 5500 card in the past and I can tell you that it was a rubbish card when it was introduced a few years ago (the entire 5000 series was garbage) Based on that, I would recommend the 9550 simply because it couldn't possibly be as bad. However, these cards are extremely outdated. If you are stuck with AGP, check out some of the nvidia 7000 series cards. There are some really good AGP cards in that line that won't set you back big $$. Check www.newegg.com for some listings and prices!|||None of them.`

Is a V266b mobo w/ AGP4x slot support an AGP8x video card?
im currently using a jetway v266b motherboard that has an agp4x slot. can an agp8x video card work in my motherboard, eg. a Geforce FX 5200 or 5500, without any errors/issues?|||YUP, AGP is backward compatible meaning you can use a 4x card in a 8x slot and an 8x card in a 4x slot, but using an 8x speed card in a 4x speed slot will only let the card operate at 4x and using a 4x card in an 8x slot will not speed up the card|||most likely that motherboard does by now. If you check Jetways website and see if they have a bios update, most likely if there is an update there is support for x8... Sounds like it is time for a new CPU/MB. You would be so happy if you did...

Good luck man!|||well man try using the DVI cable, and if you cant i think your tv or whatever your connecting to cant support it
How do I find my video card in my computer?
I just bought the new Sims 3 and I can't play it b/c it says my video card is not compatible and doesn't have the Shader Model 2.0. I found in my files that my current video card is Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X. I've read some sites to help me with this upgrade, but I haven't found much help.
If my current card is an AGP, do I have to buy another AGP, or can I buy a PCI? I don't know much about computers and don't even know where in my actual computer the video card is located.
About a year ago, I got new memory cards, so I have more space in my computer. I have a Dell that I purchased back in 2002 or 2003, if that helps at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions about where my card is located in the machine and what type of card I should get for the best upgrade? And where's the best place to purchase these things at?
Thank you.|||If your current card is AGP, you would not be able to use a PCI Express (sometimes incorrectly called PCIX in descriptions.)
I'm not saying it's impossible, but I have never, ever seen a motherboard that supports both PCI-Express and AGP.
There are video card produced for PCI (no express) and yes, you could technically get one of those, but the performance of the PCI bus (as compared to AGP or PCI-Express is very slow, and the video cards available for plain PCI are generally "left over stock" from years ago because nobody would put a PCI card into a performance computer.
You should probably be able to find an AGP card that supports Sims3, but don't get into the situation where you are spending more money than your computer is worth... Especially considering that a new computer that would play sims3 could probably be had for around $300-$400
As to the question of how to find it... Open your computer, it will be the card that your monitor plugs into. If the monitor plugs into a port that seems to be directly on the motherboard, and not a separate card then the video is built into the motherboard, and you would simply add an AGP card into the 1 slot that looks "different" from the other slots in the machine. Installing an add-in card would essentially disable the onboard video.
I would suggest going to nvidia's web site and getting the most recent drivers for your video card. Sometimes features are added, like shading, in the newer drivers.|||It will most likely be the top most expansion card in the computer, it's where your monitor plugs into.
The MX 440 is very old and so is the AGP standard your motherboard uses, if you want to play the sims 3 well you'll want to buy a new motherboard that supports PCI-Express and buy atleast an ATI 3650.
Remember a new motherboard would mean a new processor, memory and maybe power supply.|||This will tell you everything about your computer here is the website

you have 2 options:
- Go to your trusted computer salesman and inform wich graph card is compatible with your motherboard.
- buy a good pc, look into the Sims 3 handbook for the system requirements, then look wich pc you should buy to make it work.
(most of the new pc's have a very good shader and will work to solve this common problem)
a comment i want to give you is: Look at the handbook of any game you wish to buy and look at the system requirements and see if your computer can handle the game. Otherwise you will get a problem like this.
memory cards only serve more working memory so your pc can handle more proccesses or it will be able to open executables and keep them running. Most pc's at the moment have 4 Gigs of ram wich is very good if you have a pc that is running a high and big anti-virus like Mcfee or norton.
i hope this helps you :)|||Chances are you cannot use PCI express (newer graphics cards) ..these use a larger port on your motherboard and are usually black or white.
If your current graphics card if AGP you should get an AGP..they can support 2.0 Pixel shaders, but aren't the cheapest things around.

I want to buy a new agp video card, what should i buy? 512mb 7600gt or 512mb 7600gs AGP8x?
what should i buy, 7600gt or 7600gs, both are 512mb, AGP slot...|||Yep, the GS is for someone that's more on a budget. AGP is going out by the way... You might consider waiting until you can upgrade your processor and motherboard - and buy a motherboard that has a PCI-E slot. THEN choose your video card - you will have many options, and it won't necessarily cost you more money. It seems like so-so AGP cards are kinda high in price. I suppose it's because not many of them are in production anymore but they are still a lot of people out there with AGP motherboards demanding them (myself included... I just bought a XFX 7600GT, 256mb DDR3)|||GT all the way !! My friend has a GT ...and its serving him well!|||The GS is the budget model, so if the price difference for the GT isn't very significant I would go with that. But, I'm currently running a 7900GS (PCI-E x16, though) and I'm quite happy with it. I will be getting a DX-10 card very soon, though.|||Leadtek 7600gs is about us$140,7600gt us$200. The price is for you to have idea. This is the price in Chinese market. Pls let me know what is the price in USA.|||7600gt or 7600gs, both are 512mb and both are slow! you need to find one that has 256mb ddr3. 512mb ddr2 is marketing doodoo! If you cant find the ddr3 version then take the GT over th GS.
good luck.....|||Just a suggestion to save some money. Not a huge difference between the cards. Get the GS and use a program called "Rivatuner" and overclock the GS to a GT or near it.

I have a Nvidia GEForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X on my PC. I was wondering aside from the other system requirements for Call of Duty 4, will this video card be good enough or close to it to play COD 4?

Video card burned down?
Hi,
I had a new video card and I was playing Counter Strike Source to test it. After let's say....... 50 seconds of game the screen shut down by itself and said "RGB NO INPUT SIGNAL!". After restarting the computer, removing the card from the slot etc, it still didn't work. I have a hunch that it comes from the power supply, because the video card requires 300W of power and the power supply gives 300W.
Is it possible that because of a lack of power, my card burned down? Or is it because Counter Strike source was asking for too much graphics? I don't think it's because of Counter Strike source because the card was really good (nVidia GeForce 7600GS, 512MB, AGP8x). Do you think it comes from the power supply or because of the game or because of anything else?
Thanks|||It is likely the power supply. 300 watts is not a lot, especially for a powerful gaming rig. I would suggest upgrading to 400 or 450 at least. Check out Newegg.com, great prices and service :)|||Its most likely your power supply, you should get at least a 400watt.

Here's my problem... My computer just died and I can't afford to replace it right now, so I'm having to dust off an antique (I believe it's the same one that Noah used to keep track of all the animals) and use it. I'm about to upgrade to 1 GB RAM and the video card (assuming I can find a suitable one) and I have NO clue what I should get for this dinosaur...
Can you help me? |||You will need to look for an AGP 8X video card, there are not a lot of them remaining on the market, so used may be an option. However you can still get cards from ATI and nVidia for between $40 and $200
Go to one of the online sellers and search for AGP 8X and that will give you a range of models you can look up. Most of these, even the $50 ones, will outperform your MX440|||I feel your pain my computer is so old that it dosent even have and agp8x slot so I cant up grade at all lol life sucks with old computers.|||http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…
all these should work
check out the open box one's at end of page, should be cheaper
yes you can find the parts, only that they would be expensive as compared to their higher performing current generation counterparts

Why isn't the video card I just installed in my computer not working right?
I have an older computer and I just tried putting in a video card I had sitting around. It is a NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8x. It is in my computer right now, but I am having some problems. There will be random blue and red color dots/lines appearing, especially when I scroll on pages. It doesn't cover the whole screen, but they are scattered. Would this have anything to do with the fact that I have the card installed in a AGP4x slot when it is AGP8x or is it something else? I updated the drivers and that didn't help. It does work when the hardware acceleration is turned off. Any help?|||did you update the drivers at the NVIDIA website|||did you uninstall the old drivers first???
if you have an integrated GPU then you need to disable it in the BIOS and set to boot and run from the AGP slot and you need to make sure that you hooked up any power plugs and that the power supply is powerful enough to run the system and the GPU. more than likely the GPU itself is bad...
EDIT
alright your issues are the old drivers and the BIOS. i use ATI cards but the process is pretty much the same. I dont believe that you need to have the new card installed before installing the new drivers but if you do...
first. take the card out and do a system restore.
delete the old video drivers in Add/Remove Programs.
shut down
Install the card and hook up any power connectors
reboot and go into the BIOS, usually the Del key. I dont know your system, but in there some where should be a setting for VGA primary and it will probably say On Board, change it to AGP or add on or what ever the setting says.
F10 and reboot.
If you need to have the card in install the drivers now. DO NOT go through the New Hardware Detected wizard.

Will a bent fan on my video card slow down my game graphics, or should I buy a more advanced card?
My computer posses the following hardware: AMD Sempron 2400+, 768 MB of SDRAM and an 8X AGP slot, a 450 watt power supply. Just recently the fan on my previous Nvidia 2MX burnt out. To replace it, I purchased an Nvidia FX 5500 256 MB video card (Im thinking of exchaning it for a EVGA e-GeForce 7600GT AGP8X Superclocked 512MB Video Card). The 5500 did not live up to its potential. Games like Civ IV, and Rome Total War, did not work (they froze up). After doing everything I could do, I recognized that the video card fan did not work. I removed the card and noticed that the fan was bent. I was wondering if that could have been the cause of all my problems, or is the card, in general, a piece of junk.
Thank you for you advice and help.|||Rome Total War, and Civ IV should have ran just fine on any of those video cards..
But if the fan is not working, or is bent, your video card will overheat. That would cause the lock up.
If you can replace your video card fan, that may help. But if you have been running the video card for quite awhile with a broken fan, then your card may be pretty much fried by now.|||buy a better card|||if the fan dont work at all, you can burn up the graphics card, i would reccomend getting a new one.|||All the other answers are good. But let me add this: If you expect to play PC games in the future that might require more you should look at getting a new system. Especially because your graphics card still uses an AGP slot. The trends now are starting to favor PCI-E slots for graphics cards. But I think you should be good if you get a new graphics card.|||I have a FX5500 and its way to slow for most games that I want to play. The fan not working would not have helped as it would be running hot but there was probably enough air moving in your case to keep it from overheating.
If you have the money get a new card and maybe some extra RAM if you can afford it / have the slots for it.
bye for now|||Im more of a fan of the ATI Radeon X series. But the 7600 GT is pretty good card also. But a bent fan shouldnt cause too much performance loss, just a hotter GPU|||A bent fan won't make the card run more slowly, but might allow more heat to build up. But I can't imagine it being a problem unless your box is shut in a closet.
A better card is what you need.|||It needs a fan.. Heat can cause many issues.

I want to run spore on my comp and i need a 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0?
i know nothing about computers and graphix cards so i need to know whats the cheapest card i can buy with those specs?
my current card is a nvidia geforce4 mx 440 with agp8x
can some one link some possibilities?|||Yeah, your mx440 is too outdated and only partially supports Shader 1.1. Cards just meeting Shader 2.0 are also outdated. Better get one that supports Shader 4.0 or at least 3.0. It will work for old and new games.
Here's a cheap one:

Does my video card support Pixel Shader v2.0?
I am trying to run a new pc game and it keeps crashing. I am reading the tech. support guide and it says the problem may be that my video card doesn't support Pixel Shader v2.0. The guide also states that currently only the Nvidia GeForce FX series (or higher) support Pixel Shader v2.0. The video card I am currently using is an Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X. My problem is, I don't know if my video card is a lower model than the Nvidia GeForce FX series cards that support Pixel Shader v2.0.|||a geforce 4 is lower than a geforce fx....think of the geforce fx as a geforce 5
if you have the money to shell out, i suggest you get an nvidia 7800gs for like $270ish. should play all the games today w/ liquid smoothness plus it has dx shader model 3.0
for about $100, you should get either the 7600gs or the x1600 pro, both will run fine in all games today, jus not at the greatest settings.|||The GeForce MX 440 is an entry level grahpic card. For better gaming performance move up the higher level of the FX series.|||Most of games don't support Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440. Even if your card has Shareder v 2.0 but the games don't support your card - you could not play^_^

Which is a better agp video card GeForce 6600GT or Geforce 7300GT?
im planning to buy one of these video cards, my cpu only supports agp8x (T_T no pci-e) i want to know the specifications of these cards, and ur opinion sabout these cards...|||The performance is going to vary depending on what game you're playing, but they're pretty close overall, and either is fine as long as you don't need DirectX 10. If you want to see their performance charted, look here

Can I use a AGP 8X Video Card in a AGP 4x Motherboard?
My PC is a Pentium 3 with 512 RAM and a Intel 815EP Motherboard, which is AGP 4X (my video card is a Geforce 2 GTS 32MB). Can I use a AGP8x 128/256 MB with that PC?|||yes but it will only run at 4x not 8x|||no, u can not use agp 8x mode.|||Nope, but it works the other way aroud!|||I dont think you can. Try checking the motherboard manual or searching for you're motherboard online check the spicifications on it.|||Yes it will just run at the slower speed.
What video card should I use to upgrade a Dell Optiplex GX270? I need to be able to set up dual monitors.?
The video card that came with the system is a Nvidia GeForce4 MX440 with AGP8x. I don't know much about video cards, but need to find the cheapest one, while still buying a decent card.|||I would go for the Ati X800 AGP its cheap and is a good performer in the AGP line.|||http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce4mx.ht…
If I'm not mistaken, that video card already has multi-monitor capability.
You will just have to get the splitter/adapter in order to plug in multiple displays.
good luck!|||To hear that your updating your Dells sends chill up my spine. Dell is a horroble company all together. Go to a Mac store and they can help you find the right Computer youll need.

I installed a video card on an MSI mother board but when the pc is switched on it makes a rapid beeping noise?
I have an MSI MS - 6712 motherboard. Recently I got hold of an ATI 9250 AGP8X 128mb TV-OUT graphics card. When I installed it on the motherboard and turned on the PC it started making a rapid beeping noise. So i switched the pc off and put the old one back and it started normally, so problem is the Video card. What is am I doing wrong and how can I overcome this problem ?|||It is a tough call, your msi kt4v should be compatible with that card so it could be the card itself is bad or your power supply can't handle the extra load with the new card installed.
I would swap it out with other agp 8x systems that have a higher rated power supply, if it does not work the problem is the card itself.

Video graphics card for a game? (updated with more info)?
ok i have a GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X, this isn't enogh to let me play the PC game Call of Duty Modern Warfare (1).
Do i need some sort of special card so it fits inside my computer without anything happening?

Yes, my computer is ANCIENT (i also want to play Battlefield Heroes, and all i gotta do is get better graphics card, with a couple more stuff here and there)|||Okay...invest in a new computer. You can install a new video card all you want but with 1GB of RAM you will not get what you want. Go get an Asus...its for gaming and you'll be happier with it. You'll spend the same updating your old pc so just buy a new one. Intel is good for gaming and Pentium 4 is good but 3 GHz and 1 GB of RAM....uh no...the only other thing is you'll have Windows 7 which sucks for gaming. I like XP....if you want to custom build your own start at Ebay....but like I've said research an Asus.|||If you don't have a PCI-E slot, you may really need to get a new computer. A decent one with 2gb of RAM, and an NVIDIA 9500 might run up to $500.|||I'm sorry but we need to know at least what expansion slots your computer has, and also what power supply you are running.
I am impressed that your computer has lasted 8ish years though. :)|||It's not worth pouring money into that garbage
get a new computer|||First of all, get a better CPU if you want to competitively game. Although the CPU is secondary to the video card in terms of game performance, you need a better one than the Pentium 4 for playing call of duty. I suggest one of Intel's i5s, core 2 duos, or one of AMD's Phenom X2s. Secondly, 1 GB of RAM will have the same effect as a slow CPU on a game: not as bad as a slow graphics card, but noticeable. I would try for at least 3 GB or RAM, but 2 GB might work. RAM is one of the easiest upgrades to make, but CPU changing is difficult for a non-computer-nut, so you might consider buying a completely new system. And as for changing the graphics card, it's relatively simple, AMD even has a video about it at this URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9x097QRX… . You don't even need to spend much money on a new system, if you choose to do so. Just get a decent processor. If you don;t know what that is, check out intel.com's processor ratings. Go to "choose the right processor" and the link will be on your right. If you don't know how to upgrade RAM, a quick web search will turn up videos, web pages and a whole treasure trove of information on the subject. Also, with this new system, ( if you get one ), you can get a low-budget pc with a bad graphics card ( just make sure it has one and that it's not integrated graphics ) and upgrade the graphics card from there. The total cost of the new system could be only maybe $500 or less, very cheap for a gaming pc. If you feel completely lost with all this info, ask a techie friend or, if you want to spend more money, a computer professional. Also, with the new graphics card, make sure that you download the latest drivers from nvidia's site ( just look for support and drivers and find your model ) and make sure that you get at least DirectX 10 installed.|||POWERCOLOR AG3650 512MD2-V3 Radeon HD 3650 512MB 64-bit DDR2 AGP 8X

Nx 6200 AX 256 MB DDR2 AGP8X Video Card?
does video card DDR2 has to do something with PCI even though its an AGP 8X|||DDR2 is the type of ram it uses, just like DDR3 on other video cards and so on and so forth, hope that helps.|||no, DDR (Double-Data Rate) has to do with the video cards built in memory. The PCI and AGP are the types of slots it fits into on your motherboard and they are different. a PCI card will not fit into a AGP slot and vice versa.
